Stopgap P131 5L is a high-performance, general-purpose floor primer from F. Ball, designed to promote strong adhesion between subfloors and smoothing compounds. Suitable for both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, this versatile primer is an essential part of professional floor preparation, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting installation.

Formulated as a neoprene emulsion, Stopgap P131 enhances the bond of levelling compounds while also preventing rapid drying of adhesives and smoothing underlayments. This helps maintain proper curing conditions, reducing the risk of failure and improving the overall finish. Its green pigmentation allows for easy visual control during application, ensuring even coverage across the entire surface.

Stopgap P131 can be applied to a wide range of substrates including concrete, sand/cement screeds, plywood, terrazzo, ceramic tiles, and sound asphalt. It is also compatible with underfloor heating systems, making it ideal for modern flooring projects. Whether used neat on non-absorbent surfaces or diluted for absorbent subfloors, it offers excellent coverage and flexibility on site.

With a fast drying time of approximately 20–30 minutes on absorbent surfaces and around 60 minutes on non-absorbent surfaces, it helps keep installations efficient and on schedule.
