Mapei Mapeproof One Coat is a professional two-component, single-coat epoxy surface damp proof membrane (DPM) designed to control residual, static and construction moisture in cementitious and calcium sulphate/anhydrite subfloors.
Designed for use before the installation of resilient, textile and wood flooring finishes, Mapeproof One Coat can be applied to cementitious substrates with moisture readings above 75% RH and up to 97% RH, and calcium sulphate/anhydrite screeds with readings above 75% RH and below 90% RH, provided an effective structural damp proof membrane is present.
Typical applications include mechanically prepared power-floated concrete, sand/cement screeds and suitable calcium sulphate/anhydrite screeds where residual or construction moisture needs to be controlled before flooring installation. Power-floated concrete must be mechanically prepared by shot blasting or diamond grinding to expose the pores of the substrate.
Mapeproof One Coat is a two-part epoxy system consisting of Part A and Part B. Once correctly mixed, it is applied in a single coat using an A2 notched trowel, followed by rolling at right angles with a short-pile roller to ensure complete coverage and minimise the risk of pinholes.
On suitable cementitious substrates, Mapeproof One Coat can be used with underfloor heating systems, provided the heating system has been fully commissioned in accordance with the relevant standards. However, it is not recommended on heated subfloors where wood flooring is to be installed.
The mixed product has a working time and pot life of approximately 30 minutes at +23°C, is suitable for light foot traffic after approximately 5 hours, and reaches final hardening after approximately 24 hours.
Available in 7kg and 21kg units, Mapeproof One Coat has a consumption rate of approximately 430–440g/m². Mapei states approximately 16m² coverage per 7kg unit; based on the same stated consumption, the 21kg unit provides approximately 48m² theoretical coverage.
