Mapei Ultrabond Eco 380 is a professional pressure-sensitive adhesive for vinyl floor and wall coverings, offering strong and rapid initial tack together with a particularly long open time.
Designed primarily for PVC and vinyl flooring, Ultrabond Eco 380 can be used internally on level, absorbent substrates and is suitable for underfloor heating systems. It can also be used as a pressure-sensitive adhesive for bonding dimensionally stable vinyl flooring to non-absorbent substrates.
The adhesive is suitable for homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC tiles and sheet flooring, cushion flooring, multilayer PVC and semi-flexible vinyl tiles. It can also be used for certain textile floor coverings, including carpet with latex mesh, PVC foam and polyurethane backings.
Ultrabond Eco 380 is supplied ready to use and is formulated from synthetic polymers in water dispersion. Its combination of strong initial tack, extended open time and excellent permanent tack allows installers plenty of working time while creating a tough, elastic final adhesive film. It is also solvent-free and non-flammable.
For conventional wet bonding, the adhesive has a waiting time of approximately 10–20 minutes and an open time of approximately 60–70 minutes. When used as a pressure-sensitive adhesive on suitable non-absorbent substrates, it should be allowed to air-dry until the film becomes transparent but remains tacky, typically after approximately 60–70 minutes.
Ultrabond Eco 380 is suitable for demanding residential, commercial and industrial environments, including areas subject to intense static and dynamic loads. It is also suitable for wheelchair traffic in accordance with EN 12529.
A 15kg tub provides approximately 55m² coverage when applied with an A2 notched trowel, making it a practical option for larger vinyl flooring installations
