Mapei Eco Prim T Plus is a fast-drying, universal acrylic primer designed to improve the adhesion of levelling and smoothing compounds on both absorbent and non-absorbent internal substrates.
This versatile primer can be used on a wide range of flooring surfaces including cementitious and gypsum-based subfloors, anhydrite, wood, marine plywood, chipboard, terrazzo, ceramic tiles and natural stone. It is also suitable for surfaces containing traces of cement-based adhesive or existing smoothing compounds.
Eco Prim T Plus can also be used as a bonding aid over MAPEI Mapeproof ESM, Mapeproof One Coat and Mapeproof 1K Turbo DPMs before applying cementitious smoothing compounds. It is suitable for priming between two applications of levelling compound when the first layer has already dried.
The product is a solvent-free, low-odour acrylic resin primer with excellent bonding characteristics and resistance to water and ageing. Supplied as a light-blue liquid, it is easy to apply using either a brush or roller and carries an EC1 Plus very low emission classification.
On cementitious or anhydrite substrates it is normally diluted 1:2 with water, although dilution of up to 1:4 may be used on cementitious substrates depending on porosity. On existing ceramic tiles, natural stone, moisture-stable wood and water-resistant adhesive residues, Eco Prim T Plus is used undiluted.
Drying times depend on the substrate. Mapei specifies no waiting time on absorbent substrates such as screed and concrete, while low or non-absorbent substrates such as ceramic tiles and epoxy resins typically require 30–60 minutes before the next product is applied.
