Mapei Eco Prim Grip Plus is a high-performance, ready-to-use bonding primer designed to improve adhesion on smooth, dense and low-absorbency substrates before the application of smoothing compounds, levelling compounds and cementitious adhesives.
Ideal for flooring preparation and refurbishment work, Eco Prim Grip Plus creates a rough, textured keying surface that promotes excellent adhesion to difficult substrates. It can be used over surfaces including ceramic and porcelain tiles, terrazzo, natural stone, concrete, epoxy and polyurethane resins, wood, metal and other smooth substrates.
The primer is particularly useful when applying smoothing or levelling compounds over existing ceramic, terrazzo and natural stone floors, helping reduce the need for more aggressive mechanical preparation where the substrate is otherwise suitable. It can also be used when installing tiles directly over existing tiled surfaces.
Eco Prim Grip Plus is supplied ready to use with no dilution required and can be applied easily using a roller or brush. Its low-odour, solvent-free formulation has very low VOC emissions and carries an EC1 Plus classification.
Depending on the substrate, temperature and humidity, smoothing compounds and cementitious adhesives can generally be applied after approximately 30–60 minutes. Consumption is approximately 0.20–0.30kg/m², depending on the absorbency of the substrate.
Available here in convenient 5kg and 10kg tubs, Eco Prim Grip Plus is an excellent choice for professional flooring contractors who need a reliable bonding primer for difficult and non-absorbent surfaces.
